St. Helen’s Choir is a real community of enthusiastic amateurs and supportive professionals who enjoy singing praise to the Lord with one voice. The members span an age range of 80+ years, from the youth choir on up to the ones who remember when UBC was still downtown. Our Director of Music is the ever-inspirational Peter Butterfield, who challenges and encourages the musicians, and who can really make our Steinway piano sing when the spirit moves. Michael Molnar as our organist leads our song with grand and stirring accompaniments, as well as a broad range of preludes and postludes. The children gather after services to watch his feet fly on the pedals! Choir practices are held every Sunday morning, 8:45 a.m. in the Sanctuary; at that time the choir prepares for Sunday worship, plans the next social and basically sings their hearts out. Young, not so young and everyone in between – St. Helen’s Choir members enjoy music, laughter and each other! Come by any time to listen, watch or join in! New members warmly welcomed. |
